  1. Those who say Rand’s view of the nature of man is wrong make the mistake of using man’s history as evidence of man’s irrational nature. But Rand pointed out that man has free will, he can chose to be rational or not. For most of man’s history however, he was denied that choice by the societies into which he was born, most of which were brutal forms of authoritarianism.

    But choosing between rationality and irrationality is not as simple as picking a fruit from a tree. One has to first discover what is rationality? Is it a survival benefit to me? Why?

    Rand projected her image of an ideal man. Her philosophy of Objectivism says proudly, based on what man is, here is what he could be. I couldn’t agree more.
